Gonyaulax diaphanis Cookson and Eisenack, 1958
Originally Gonyaulax, subsequently Gonyaulacysta, thirdly Cribroperidinium.
Tax. jr. synonym of Gonyaulax (now Cribroperidinium) muderongensis Cookson and Eisenack, 1958, according to Backhouse, 1988).

Original description: Cookson and Eisenack, 1958, p. 36-37
Shell ovoid, epitheca smaller than hypotheca with a straight, stiff horn. Girdle helicoid. Both the plates and the girdle are bordered by spiny ledges, those around the apical plate appear to lie obliquely to it. The longitudinal furrow narrows towards the epitheca, and in it the pore for the exit of the flagellum can be seen. The arrangement of the plates is shown in fig.10, those on the dorsal surface of the hypotheca are not clear enough for representation.
