Originally Hashenia reticulata, subsequently (and now) Canningia xinjiangensis.
Holotype: Yu Jingxian and Zhang Wangping, 1980, pl.2, fig.1.
Age: Turonian–Maastrichtian.

Cysts 4 to 6-sided in outline, endocyst enclosed by a periphragm which is 3 µm to 4 µm wide, paracingulum discernible, a weakly developed apical horn is present. Archeopyle apical.
Substitute name: Canningia xinjiangensis.
