Hexagonifera chlamydata Cookson and Eisenack, 1962b, p.496, pl.7, figs.1–3,5–8. Emendations: Fechner, 1985, p.119 and Marheinecke, 1992, p.88, both as Leberidocysta chlamydata.

NOW Leberidocysta. Originally Hexagonifera, subsequently Hexagonifera?, thirdly (and now) Leberidocysta, fourthly Polygonifera. Questionable assignment: Lentin and Williams (1976, p.84).

Shell broadly oval, rather thick-walled, surface finely to coarsely verrucose, completely enclosed in a thin, smooth, hyaline membrane that may extend for some distance laterally and posteriorly or may occasionally be entirely removed.
Dimensions: Holotype: Over-all length 75 µm; width 76 µm; shell 60x50 µm.
Range: Over-all length ca. 68-75 µm; width ca. 42-54 µm; shell 56-68x42-54 µm.

H. chlamydata is distinguishable from the Upper Cretaceous species H. vermiculata by the type of the sulpture and the greater prominence and constancy of the outer membrane.
