Now Spiniferites ramosus? ssp. aulosphaeropsis. Originally Hystrichosphaera furcata forma aulosphaeropsis, subsequently (and now) Spiniferites ramosus? ssp. aulosphaeropsis.
Taxonomic senior synonym (at specific rank): Avellodinium falsificum, according to Sarjeant (1985b, p.156–157), who noted that Avellodinium falsificum must be retained, since a taxon does not have priority outside its rank.
The name Hystrichosphaera furcata forma aulosphaeropsis was not validly published in Wetzel (1933b), since the species combination, Hystrichosphaera furcata, was not validly published until 1937.
