Now Coronifera striolata? ssp. minor. Originally Hystrichosphaera hirsuta forma minor (name not validly published), subsequently Baltisphaeridium hirsutum forma minus (name not validly published), thirdly Operculodinium? hirsutum ssp. minus (name not validly published), fourthly (and now) Coronifera striolata? ssp. minor.
This taxon was first described and illustrated in O. Wetzel, [1932, caption to pl.3, fig.13 (p.144) and pl.3, fig.13] but was not validly published since the species name Xanthidium hirsutum Ehrenberg, 1838 was not validly published and additionally since the generic name Hystrichosphaera 0. Wetzel, 1933 was not validly published at that time. Since Sarjeant, 1984, validly published this taxon, as Coronifera striolata? ssp. minor, his citation - Coronifera striolata ssp. minor (O. Wetzel, 1933b) Sarjeant, 1984 - must be followed.
