Hystrichosphaeridium collum Tasch, 1964

Stover and Evitt, 1978, considered this to be a problematical species of Hystrichosphaeridium.

Original diagnosis: Tasch, 1964, p.194
Globular configuration, with narrow, apical, tubular neck, from the end of which flagellate extensions merge with surrounding membrane; short, seta-like, tubular processes; a scalloped peripheral effect due to barblike processes.
Dimensions: Holotype: Length (maximum), excluding membrane 32 Ám; width (maximum), excluding membrane 38 Ám; length of neck 6 Ám; length of flagella 50 Ám; maximum width of membrane 28 Ám; length of processes 3-6 Ám.
