Hystrichosphaeridium conispiniferum Yun, 1981

Holotype: Yun, 1981, pl.2, fig.4; Fensome et al., 1991, fig.1 - p.625
Paratype: A paratype was cited by Yun Hye-su (1981) as being represented by
his pl.2, fig.6 in the text (p.32) and by his pl.2, fig.5 in the plate caption.
Locus typicus: Timmermann brickyard near Esbeck, Germany
Stratum Typicum: Early Santonian
Translation Yun, 1981: Fensome, 1991, p. 626

Original diagnosis: Yun, 1981, p. 31
The spherical central body has pointed-conical spines, which are slightly expanded at their distal tips. The spines vary little in length and are usually longer than the central body diameter. The cyst displays 3(?) apical, 6 precingular, 8 paracingular, 7 postcingular and 3 antapical spines.

Original description: Yun , 1981, p. 31
The spherical central body consists of an endophragm and a periphragm, which give rise to hollow, distally open spines. The spines taper, with straight sides, towards their necks. Beyond the "necks" they widen for a short distance forming an angle of 30¦ to the longitudinal axis of the spine- their ends are finely denticulate or rarely smooth. The archeopyle is formed by the removal of an apical cap which is about 1/5 of the central body height.
