Original diagnosis: Eisenack 1958, p. 402
Central shell globular, set with numerous appendages, which originate from broad bases, then taper, to broaden (again), divide and separate into fibres at their ends. Their length lies between the diameter and the radius of the shell.
Dimensions: Central body: 30-35 µm; overall size: 62-71 µm.

Affinities:
Eisenack 1958, p. 402: This species is obviously related to H.inodes subs. gracilis from the Oligocene, only the Tertiary species is distinctly larger (diameter up to 176 µm) and the processes are more clearly arranged in a "Y-form".
