Hystrichosphaeridium multicornutum Kimyai, 1966, p.471, pl.2, fig.20. Holotype: Kimyai, 1966, pl.2, fig.20. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Hystrichosphaeridium?. Questionable assignment: Stover and Evitt (1978, p.56) as a problematic species. Age: Cenomanian.

Original diagnosis: Kimyai, 1966, p.471
Body globular to cylindrical; poles not well rounded; body bearing 30-40 thin appendages; appendages 10-15 µm in length, almost perpendicular to the body surface, wide at the base, gradually tapering to the tips.
Dimensions: Equatorial diameter 60-85 µm. Holotype: Equatorial diameter 60.0 µm.

Affinities:
Kimyai, 1966, p.471: This form is similar to Hystrichosphaeridium xanthiopyxides, but has more appendages.
