Hystrichosphaeridium pulcherrimum Deflandre and Cookson, 1955

Now Oligosphaeridium. Originally Hystrichosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Oligosphaeridium.
Hystrichosphaeridium pulcherrimum was a nomen nudum in Deflandre and Cookson, 1954.

Original diagnosis: Deflandre and Cookson, 1955, p.270
Shell ellipsoidal, with about 14 appendages, the longest of which are generally shorter than the diameter of the shell. At about half their length the appendages gradually widen into deep, strongly perforated funnels, the walls of which are almost reticulate. The rims of the funnels are fringed with numerous spines which may be connected by small threads. Dimensions: Holotype: overall diameter c. 118 µm, shell 47 by c. 61 µm, appendages 26-38 µm.
