A species of Hystrichosphaera possessing a spherical central body with slightly granular surface. Processes short, sub-conical to cylindrical, closed, simple or distally forked. Granules concentrated along proximal sutural crests.
Dimensions: holotype: diameter of central body 36 by 38 Ám, length of processes up to 11 Ám. Range: diameter of central body 31-46 Ám, length of processes up to 11 Ám.

Distally the processes may be simple, bi-, tri-, or tetrafurcate. When the processes are furcate, the furcations are digitate and always erect. Each taeniate furcation may be bifid or have a serrate or entire distal margin. Some of the processes are fenestrate proximately.
