Carnarvonodinium granulatum, Jiang et al., 1992
Holotype: Jiang et al., 1992, pl.1, fig.2
Locus typicus: Mto Panga Quarry, Kenya
Stratum typicum: Kimmeridgian-Thitonian

Diagnosis:
A species of Carnarvonodinium with an ornament of fine grana.
Description:
Proximate cysts, elongate ellipsoidal with rounded antapex.
Apical horn may be present but quite inconspicuous. Autophragm only ( < 1 µm thick), surface covered more or less evenly with fine grana.
Archaeopyle apical, type tA. Accessory archaeopyle sutures clear, indicating 6 precingular paraplates. No other paratabular features observed. Operculum free in most instances but is attached in the holotype; separation is thought to be a preservation-preparation feature.
