Avellodinium hauteriviense
Avellodinium hauteriviense, Prössl, 1990
Prössl (1990, p.99) questionably included this species in Avellodinium.
Name not validly published since lodgment of holotype not specified.
Holotype: Prössl, 1990, pl.1, fig.3,7
Paratype: Prössl, 1990
Locus typicus: Salzgitter, NW-Germany
Stratum typicum: Early Hauterivian
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Prössl, 1990, p. 99-100]: (Translation: LPP)
Diagnosis:
Sphaerical to subsphaerical cyst with smooth periphragm. The gonal and intergonal processes are bi- to trifurcate.
Description:
The cyst is thin-walled without significant indication of paratabulation. Its identification is made more difficult by the high number of intergonal processes, which are not always connected by sutures.
The processes in the cingular region are usually better developed than the rest.
The archaeopyle results from the loss of the epicyst and is type tAtP.
