Scriniodinium heikeae

Scriniodinium heikeae Prössl, 1990

Originally Scriniodinium, subsequently (and now) Endoscrinium. This name was not validly published in Prössl (1990, p.106), since that author did not specify the lodgment of the holotype.
Name not validly published since lodgment of holotype not specified (I.C.B.N. Article 37.5).
Holotype: Prössl, 1990, pl.12, fig.1,4,9
Locus typicus: Salzgitter, NW-Germany
Stratum typicum: Albian
Translation Prössl, 1990: LPP

Original diagnosis: Prössl, 1990, p. 106
Cavate cyst, parasutures marked by fenestrate septae. Endocyst moved in antapical direction.

Original descrpition: Prössl, 1990, p. 106
The polygonal cyst consists of a thin Endophragm and a thin Periphragm. The fenestrate septae are smooth or weakly serrate. The septae are at the antapex higher than at the apex. Between paraplates 1" to 4" they may be reduced to weak sutures. The narrow cingulum divides the cyst into two unequal halfs. The antapically moved, circular to subcircular endocyst often shows an equivalent endoarchaeopyle to the 3"" archaeopyle of the pericyst. These endoarchaeopyle is visible in lateral view as indentation. Tabulation : 4", 6"", ?6c, 6""", 1p, 1"""".

Affinities:
Prössl, 1990, p.106: The species shows some similarities to S. scutellum Eisenack 1958, but is more delicate. The endocyst is moved into antapical direction which gives the impression of the cyst being epicavate.
