Dichadogonyaulax bensonii Monteil, 1992a, is a proximochorate, acavate subspherical cyst without an apical horn. The wall consists of an autophragm with high parasutural septa, perforated along their length by holes about 2 µm in diameter. Crests ornamented by bifid processes, like an anchor, regularly distributed. CHECK ILLUSTRATION. Archeopyle epicystal type Ea. Principle archeopyle suture situated on the posterior margin of the precingular paraplates, anterior to the cingulum. Operculum attached. Paratabulation shown primarily by the parasutural septa. Preapical paraplates reduced and displaced posteriorly, in contact with apical plates 2' and 4'. Paratabulation 1pr, 4', 0a, 6", 6c, 6"’, 1p, 1"”, as, ras, rs, ls, ps, fm. Paracingulum indicated by two paracingular flanges, the posterior being the more developed and, more importantly, by perforations of more or less equal size. Parasulcus clearly subdivided by low, non ornamented septa, which tend to disappear in the central part of the sulcus. Size: Overall 52-76 µm, fringe 6-7 µm.

Original diagnosis: Monteil, 1992, p. 274, 276
Cyst proximochotate, acavate, subspherical, lacking an apical horn. Wall composed of an autophragm bearing high parasutural septa, the distal half perforated by meshes about 2 µm in diameter. The crest ornamented by regularly distributed, bifid anchor-shaped processes. Archaeopyle epicystal, type E(a) [tpr tA tP]. Principal archaeopyle suture situated close to the posterior margin of the precingular paraplates and anterior to the paracingulum. Opercular piece adnate. Paratabulation clearly expressed by the parasutural septa. Preapical paraplate(s) of reduced size and posteriorly displaced, putting paraplates 2' and 4' into contact. Paratabulation gonyaulacoid, formula ?1pr, 4', 0a, 6'', 6c, 6''', 1p, 1'''', as, ras, rs, ls, ps, fm. Paracingulum
