Escharisphaeridia "nuda" Prauss, 1989, p.33, pl.10, figs.2-3; text-fig.10.

Holotype: Prauss, 1989, pl.10, fig.2; text-fig.10. Taxonomic senior synonym: Escharisphaeridia laevigata, according to Prauss in Lentin and Williams (1993, p.213). Taxonomic senior synonym: Escharisphaeridia psilata, according to Poulsen (1996, p.80) - however, Feist-Burkhardt and Monteil (1997, p.40) retained Escharisphaeridia nuda as a taxonomic junior synonym of Escharisphaeridia laevigata. Age: mid Bajocian-Late Callovian.

Cyst shape sphaeroidal to ovaloidal. Wall of solid pedium, psilate. Areation: nonareate, indicated by outline of archaeopyle and accessory sutures of precingular areae. Archaeopyle apical, 1"+2"+3"+4". Operculum foederate, secate, (1"+2"+3"+4")s.
Dimensions: (without operculum, range) length 58.9 Ám, breadth 63.7 Ám.

Affinities:
Prauss, 1989, p.33: E. nuda differs from E. pococki in having a psilate surface, from Chyroeisphaeridia chytroeides by the apical archaeopyle. Meiourogonyaulax and Lithodinia are areate.
