Hystrichosphaeridium tenuitubatum
Hystrichosphaeridium tenuitubatum Marheinecke, 1992
Contrary to the opinion of Lentin and Williams (1993, p.334), Williams et al. (1998, p.316) considered this name to be validly published.
Holotype: Marheinecke, 1986, pl.17, figs.5-6, as Hystrichosphaeridium sp.; Marheinecke, 1992, pl.11, figs.10-11; Fauconnier and Masure, 2004, pl.45, figs.4-5.
Locus typicus: Hemmoor, Lower Saxony, Germany
Stratum typicum: Early Maastrichtian
Translation Marheinecke, 1992: LPP
Original description: Marheinecke, 1992, p. 61
Cyst chorate, sub-ovaloidal. Wall composed of pedium and luxuria. Luxuria develops hollow, thin, tubiform intraareate processes, distally open with round, aculeate margin. Accedation formula: ?1pr, 4", 6"", 6c, 5-6""". 1p, 1"""", 3-5s. Archaeopyle: apical, ?pr+1"+2"+3"+4", operculum secate, foederate (?pr+1"+2"+3"+4"), involving the whole apical part. Luxuria usually alveolate and forms between the processes a folveolate tegillum. Specimens with a compact wall consist of smooth surfaces. The apical, precingular, postcingular, antapical and sulcal processes show round to slightly angular detachment lines. The cingular prosesses show round to oval detachment lines. Distal margin of processes aculeate to fringhed. Cingular and sulcal processes thinner than rest.
