Phanerodinium? sonciniae Marheinecke, 1992

NOW Microdinium. Originally Phanerodinium?, subsequently (and now) Microdinium.
Questionable assignment: Marheinecke (1992, p.110).
Taxonomic junior synonym: Microdinium perplexum (name not validly published), according to Slimani (2001a, p.193).
Contrary to the opinion of Lentin and Williams (1993, p.509), Williams et al. (1998, p.480) considered this name to be validly published.

Original description: Marheinecke, 1992, p.111
Cyst proximate, acavate, ovoidal. Epicyst slightly smaller than hypocyst. Wall of pedium and luxuria. Pedium thin, without ornamentation. Luxuria gives rise to intraareate, irregular developed "pseudoseptae". Septae developed on fines.
Archaeopyle: Apical, 1"+2"+3"+4"+1a+2a+3a+4a. Operculum secate.
Areation: Same as for genus.

Dimensions: Holotype: length: 33µm, breadth: 30µm, height of ridges: 2.5µm. Range: length 24(32)34µm, breadth: 24(30)33µm, height of ridges: 2-3µm.
