Spiniferites terminus Marheinecke, 1992, p.30–31, pl.4, figs.3,6.
Holotype: Marheinecke, 1992, pl.4, figs.3,6.
Contrary to the opinion of Lentin and Williams (1993, p.617), Williams et al. (1998, p.581) considered this name to be validly published.
Age: early Maastrichtian

Original description: Marheinecke, 1992, p.30
Cyst subsphaeroidal, spiniferate. Wall composed of pedium and luxuria. Luxuria produced into finate septae and very short gonal processes. Intergonal processes not present.
Surface ornamentation: chagrinate to weakly perforate. Septae: muri very high, claudate to apertate, conflate. Cannae not developed. No ornamentation or weakly perforate. Septae smooth to serrate.
Processes: Gonal, trifurcate, very short. 1st order not or weakly deliminated from the septae, trifurcate. Processes 2nd order very short, not always obvious. Close standing processes may be fused to bi - to multifurcate processes.
Apical region: usually septae reflect just three apical areae. 2" and 3" completely developed. 1" and 4" fused to an iso-omegaform-planate to camerate area. Usually the septae of the apical area are incompletely developed. If septae on finis 2"/3" not developed, a bulge or slender apical process may appear. If all septae present, a usual gonal process is developed on triple point 2"/3"/1"+4".
Cingulum: sinistral, displaced in one cingulum width.
Sulcal region: sulcus indifferentiated, straight and wide. Area 6"" triangular, septum towards the sulcus is missing, 1""" fused with sulcus area. Areation: 3-4", 6"", 6c, 5-6""", 1p, 1"""",Xs. Archaeopyle: 3""; operculum 3"", secate.
Dimensions: length central body 30(32)36 µm, breadth central body 30(32)35 µm.
