Aldorfia sp. 1 of Davey, Davey, 1987, pl.9, fig.12; pl.11, figs.3-4,7
Occurrence: Papuan Basin, Papua New Guinea
Age: Kimmerigian-Tithonian
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Davey, 1987, p. 34]:
Description:
The cyst is subcircular to ovoidal in outline with rounded apices. The amount of cavation is difficult to assess and appears to be well developed in the sutural region and around the lateral margins of the cyst. The two layers are here linked by numerous, fine fibrous supports. Tabulation is typically poorly developed on the dorsal and ventral surfaces but the cingulum is usually obvious. A precingular archaeopyle is typically present.
