Danea crassimurata Wilson 1988

Originally (and now) Danea, subsequently Damassadinium (generic name illegitimate).

Intermediate to large slightly ellipsoidal Danea with a characteristic thick autophragm (up to m). Short conical projection present at both apex and antapex. Penitabular septa reticulate to fibrous, low (rarely exceeding 5 Ám) and define typical gonyaulacacean paratabulation 4", 6"", 6c, 5""", 1p, 1""""; paraplates difficult to discern on ventral surface and there appears to be a variable number of sulcal paraplates. Hypocyst typically larger than epicyst. Archeopyle large, somewhat hoof-shaped; operculum free. Paracingulum broad (up to 14 Ám) indicated by irregular series of short transverse septa. Parasulcus indicated by variable number of short rectilinear septa.
Dimensions: Holotype: length 105 Ám, breadth 84 Ám. Range: length 75-105 Ám, breadth 63-84 Ám (n= 10).

Affinties:
Wilson, 1988, p. 17: The species is distinguished from other members of Danea mainly by its characteristic thick wall.
