Baltisphaeridium funginum
Baltisphaeridium funginum Morgenroth 1966
Now Lingulodinium. Originally Baltisphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Lingulodinium.
Holotype: Morgenroth, 1966, pl.3, fig.7
Paratypes: Morgenroth, 1966
Locus typicus: Fehmarn, Katharinenhof, NW Germany
Stratum typicum: Early Eocene
Translation Morgenroth, 1966: LPP
Original diagnosis: Morgenroth, 1966, p. 17
A species of the genus Baltiasphaeridium with numerous, very short processes, which are closed distally by thick, solid bulges.
Original description: Morgenroth, 1966, p. 17
Thinn-walled, smooth to granulate, circular capsule covered by numerous 3Á - 4Á long, hollow processes, which are closed distally by rounded, solid and thick bulges. The dimensions of this form are very constant. On one specimen a ellipsoidal opening with zigzag margin was observed, which may be interpreted as pylome.
Dimensions: Capsule diameter 47(45/50)Á, process length 3-4Á.
