Ovoidal to polygonal spiniferate cyst. The plate boundaries are marked by small irregularly developed crests. Long, hollow, distally simple processes arise from these crests. The preadcingular crest lacks processes, whilst the postadcingular crest presents two processes for the paraplates c, d and e; one process for the paraplates au, b, fi and fu. The paratabulation formula is, following the Kofoid notation: 4", 6"", 6c, 6""", 1p, 1""""; following the Taylor-Evitt notation: A-C, 1u, au-e, fi, II-IV, X, Z. The archaeopyle is precingular, type (P(3""))/(P(4)).

Affinities:
Courtinat, 1989,p.171: O. bernieri presents gonal adcingular which are typically
absent in O. amphiacanthum.
