Achomosphaera longispinosa
Achomosphaera ?longispinosa, He Chengquan, 1991, p. 148, pl.23, fig.16
Questionable assignment: He Chengquan (1991, p.148).
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.23, fig.16.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fm, upper part of the lower member.
Age: Paleocene-Early Eocene.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [He Chengquan, 1991] (translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019):
Description:
The body is long-oval, length larger than width.
Thin wall, the surface granular-wrinkled.
There are many slender processes, spiny or stripes, straight or curved, solid or on hollow at the base; End shape various: simple or slightly enlarged, sometimes bifurcated, branch ends expanded or combined; some processes have a small branch in the middle, the bases of the adjacent processes at apex, antapex or cingulum may be connected; Some processes are combined somewhere along the length. Processes are mainly concentrated at the apex, antapex, then the equator area, most likely at gonal positions, few or absent at sutural positions.
Archeopyle trapezoid or high arched, precingular, P-type,formed by the loss of the third precingular plate. Operculum free.
Dimensions:
Body length 60μm, width 40μm, process length 20-32μm.
Note/Remark:
This specimen has been classified into this genus doubtfully because some process bases are combined, distal bifurcates are not developed
