Batiacasphaera sparsa
Batiacasphaera sparsa, He Chengquan, 1991
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.6, fig.4
Location and stratigraphy: Ulugquat County Basebulak; Basebulak fm, member two and three.
Age: Late Eocene
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [He Chengquan, 1991]: (translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019):
Description:
Cyst nearly spherical, length and width almost equal, no apical, antapical horns.
Wall thickness about 1 μm, stratification uncertain, surface with sparse round tumor, the tumor is low, diameter 1- 1.2 μm, distance changes between 4-12 μm; the inner surface of the cyst possessing dense tiny particles, the cyst outline smooth (except tumor), the inner particles can be truly displayed on the archeopyle edge.
The archeopyle developed, apical, edge angular, diameter greater than the 2/3 of cyst maximum width. Operculum completely separated and attached to the edge of the archeopyle.
Dimensions:
Holotype cyst length (including the operculum) 70 μm, width 72.5 μm
