Carpatella lamprota
Carpatella lamprota, (He Chengquan, 1991), Lentin and Williams, 1993
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.8, fig.15
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fm, upper member.
Age: Early Eocene
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [He Chengquan, 1991]: (translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019):
Description:
cyst lantern-shaped, length and width are nearly equal, the body sub-circular. T
here is a centered apical antapical horn, strong, nearly equal size, conical; Apical horn length 8 μm, base width 12μm; Antapical horn length 10μm, the base width 25μm.
The cingulum is weakly shown below the archeopyle along the equator.
Cyst wall is corroded, surface rough wrinkled. Based on the surface ornamentation of the apical antapical horn, the cyst wall surface should be granular-short wrinkled.
Archeopyle precingular, P-type, formed by the loss of the third precingular plate. Operculum free.
Dimensions:
Cyst length 80μm, width 80μm.
Affinities:
This species is similar to Paraireiana scabrata, but the former has a weak cingulum mark in the equatorial zone.
