Ceratiopsis pedibaculifera, He Chengquan, 1991, p.75–76, pl.34, fig.14.

NOW Cerodinium. Originally Ceratiopsis (generic name illegitimate), subsequently (and now) Cerodinium. Following I.C.N. Article 55.1, the species name Ceratiopsis pedibaculifera is validly published even though the generic name Ceratiopsis is illegitimate.

Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.34, fig.14.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; lower Zimgen group near the bottom.
Age: Paleocene.

Original description: [He Chengquan, 1991]: (translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019):

Description:
The outline is pentagonal or like Pthanoperidinium, with flat sides and somewhat convex waist.
The epicyst is slightly larger than the hypocyst, nearly the isosceles right triangle. An apical horn extends at the top, about 17 μm long. The top of the apical horn is sharp. The hypocyst is inverted trapezoid. The base is gently curved, with two nearly equal antapical horns, ca. 17 μm, distally rod-like, rod-like part length 2-3 μm, the distance between each other is about 44 μm.
Cingulum is slightly concave , at equatorial position, annular, 7.5 μm wide, the edge is characterized by the fine ridges and associated horizontal grooves.
The sulcus is limited to the lower cyst, nearly triangular, narrow front and wide back, decorated with fine ridge on its edge.
The outer wall is thin, the surface has fine granulate, locally like prickles. The inner body is nearly circular, with a granular surface.
Except for the apical and antapical horns, it is attached to the outer wall together closely, in the antapical part they are quite close or slightly-separated.
The archeopyle is big, intercalary, the outline is a fuzzy hexagon, its length and width are nearly equal. The operculum is completely separated but preserved in situ.

Dimensions:
Cyst length 122 μm, width 75 μm, the inner diameter is 72.5 μm.

Affinities/Comparison:
This new species differs from Ceratiopsis taenialis in lacking a peripheral cavate; this new species is different from C. boloniensis in that the distance between the two horns is longer and the surface lacks strip-shaped wrinkles.
