Cyclonephelium longispinosum
Cyclonephelium longispinosum He Chengquan, 1991
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.9, fig.19
Age: Middle Eocene
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: of the body nearly circular or circular pentagonal, with a low apical horn, two antapical horns are obvious or undeveloped, when obvious, it is shown by gently concave into the antapex, the antapical horns are broadly rounded, equal or unequal. Thin wall, the surface with fine particles and processes; Processes are sparse, rod-spike, straight or curved, varying lengths, mainly long ones, ends simple, or tapering or slightly expanding, sometimes with "Y" shaped branches; Processes limited to (or including the precingular area) surrounding bands, absolutely absent at the middle of dorsal ventral surface and sulcus. Archeoply apical, (tA) type, formed by the movement of the apical zone, with an incised margin. Operculum adhered in situ, the body length 70.6-77μm, width67- 72.4μm, process 2.5-18μm (measured 2); Holotype length 77μm, width 67μm , Process length 2.5-12.5μm.
Discussion: This species is similar to Cyclonephelium distinctum, but the two antapical horns of the former are shown more or less, processes limited to the surrounding bands including the precinular zone, with "Y" -shaped branches at the distal ends; Processes are limited to the surrounding bands also absent at precingular zone (the conditions of specimens classified in this species later is complex, not discussed here), the ends of the processes expanding or slightly bifurcated; From the stratigraphy view, the two should be separated. It differs from C. circulatum in possessing apical horn and 2 antapical horns.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia Basebulak; Wulagen fm.
