Cyclonephelium tarimense
Cyclonephelium? tarimense He Chengquan, 1991
He Chengquan, 1991, questionably included this species in Cyclonephelium.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.28, fig.9
Age: Paleocene
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Oval body, length larger than width. Thin wall, the surface is smooth. With some fineprocesses, 10-20μm long,
width 1-2μm, solid or hollow base, base generally slightly wider, the distal end shape variable, and some simple, some with duckbill-shaped two branches, and some with 3-5 long branches (their ends are simple or short bifurcated); The processes are almost all within the body edge, the bases of which are connected to each other with a low coronal ridge(width 2μm) so that the prcesses appear to grow in a continuous ring coronal ridge, rare at the middle ogf the dorsal ventral surface. Archeopyle apical, (tA) type, formed by the movement of the small apex, the edge slightly angular, the diameter about 45μm. Operculumr preserved in situ, processes absent on it. Body length 72.5μm, width 62.5μm.
NOTE: The processes of this new species are all generally located on an annular coronal ridge within the edge of the body, thus tentatively classified in this genus.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County, Baskabulake; Qimugen fm, lower member.
