Ellipsodinium tenuicinctum He Chengquan, 1991

Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.7, fig.12
Age: Middle Eocene

Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: The cyst is dorsal-ventral flattened, outline oval, length larger than width, the upper and lower cysts are the same in shape and size. No apical antapical horns and inner body. The wall is medium-thick, the surface is decorated withf dense particles and incomplete reticulate, and the whole surface is quite rough; Mesh size is medium (4μm × 5μm or 4μmm × 4μm), reticulate ridges are smooth, width 1μm, the contour is sparsely tooth-like. The cingulum is faint, under the archeopyle, the equatorial band is shown by the lack or reduction (degeneration) of the reticulate. No sulcus. Archeopyle very clear, precingular, P-type, outline horseshoe-shaped, formed by the third precingular plate movement. Operculum preserved in situ. Cyst length 83μm, width 65μm.
Compaison: This species differs from Ellipsodinium rugulosum and E. reticulatum, in incomplete reticulation on the surface and particles in the mesh, as well as microdisplay of the cingulum.
Location and stratigraphy: Wucqia County Basebulak; Wulagen fm.
