Now Scriniodinium?. Originally Scriniodinium, subsequently Ellipsoidictyum, thirdly Parvocavatus?, fourthly (and now) Scriniodinium?.
Sarjeant, 1985, emended the diagnosis of this species when he questionably transferred it to Parvocavatus Gitmez, 1970.

Original diagnosis: Eisenack, 1958, p.385: Scriniodinium scutella
Test compressed, broadly oval with pointed apex and shallowly curving antapex. Girdle furrow proportionately deep and broad, removed by about 2/5 of the overall length from the apex. Capsule oval. Lateral flange narrow, on the epitheca broadest above the transverse furrow, becoming narrower towards the apex, on the hypotheca broadest around the antapex.
