Fibrocysta tarimensis

Fibrocysta tarimensis He Chengquan, 1991

Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.20, fig.8
Age: Middle Eocene

Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: body outline nearly oval, waist is not convex. Wall thickness about 1 μm, the inner layer is smooth. The outer surface is fibrous granular, rough. There is an obvious horn at the apex, 22.5μm long, 7.5μm wide. Both sides are nearly parallel. The distal end was short-fingered, split at the 1/3 from the base. There is also a horn at the antapex, but broken, about 5μm wide. There are many processes on the body, 15-20μm long, consistent in shape and size, solid, slightly wider at base, tapering distally, endl shape various: simple or trumpet-shaped or with a few blunt short branches; Processes have weak fibrous structure, usually obvious at the base; At first glance, the processes are not tabular arrangement, but from the archeopyle operculum, the processes are intratabular type, about 4-5 processes on each plate, Roughly within the corner of the plates. Archeopyle obvious, precingular, P-type, formed by the movement of the third precingular plate. Operculum preserved in situ. Total length about 120μm, width 87.5μm, body length 92.5μm, width 72μm.
Comparison: This new species is somewhat similar to Fibrocysta vectensis, but the former is characterized by short processes, simple process ends, and differences in body contour, apical horns.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia county Basebulak; Wulagen fm.
