Goniodoma polyedrica
Goniodoma polyedrica (Pouchet, 1883) J÷rgensen, 1900
Originally Peridinium, subsequently (and now) Goniodoma, thirdly Heteraulacacysta.
Morgenroth, 1966, included his specimens from the Eocene in Goniodoma polyedrica, which is a modern species, described from the motile stage.
Eisenack and Kjellström, 1971, transferred Goniodoma polyedrica to the fossil genus Heteraulacacysta Drugg and Loeblich Jr., 1967, including all modern forms as well as those of Morgenroth, 1967.
Lentin and Williams, 1973, retained Goniodoma polyedrica for modern forms only and erected the species Heteraulacacysta fehmarnensis for fossil cysts which resemble Goniodoma polyedrica. This includes the specimens described and illustrated by Morgenroth, 1966.
