Lingulodinium machaerophorum ssp. breve
Lingulodinium machaerophorum subsp. breve He Chengquan, 1991, p.144, pl.19, fig.5. Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.19, fig.5. Age: Mid Eocene
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Oval body. With sparse short processes, more than 20 around the body, flat blade-like, straight or slightly curved, hollow, proximally and distally closed, tapering distally, ends pointed. Thin wall, the surface (including processes) dense granular, the separation of particles is clear. The archeopyle may be combined. There may be a yellow-green core. Body 58μm × 50μm, process length 9μm.
Discussion:The archeopyle this specimen seems to be apical, but its margin left a long tongue-like part, which seemed to coincide with the archeopyle of the genus. Its processes are few and short, the granular surface is different from the holotype.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak;Wulagen fm.
