Small, thin-walled (1 µm or less), proximate cyst of irregular lobate shape, usually broadly triangular, rarely quadrilobate; maximum diameter 40(45)47x41(44)48 µm (10 specimens). Epicyst formed by two laterally projecting lobes but it may also bulge out dorsally and ventrally; apical region often appears to be torn or crumpled inwards. Hypocyst conical, commonly with one or two small antapical protuberances or small horns. Phragma granulate and typically covered in fairly densely distributed, short (c. 2 µm), fine hairs but on some specimens these are sparse or only weakly developed. Paratabulation generally not indicated but in rare dehisced specimens small ?precingular paraplates may be visible. Archeopyle apical but appears to dehisce obliquely.
