Paraireiana scabrota
Paraireiana "scabrota" He Chengquan, 1991, p.172, pl.8, fig.14.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.8, fig.14.
NOW Carpatella. Originally Paraireiana, subsequently (and now) Carpatella.
Age: Paleocene.
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Cyst dorsal-ventral flattened, body contour nearly circular. There is an apical and antapical horn, papillary, end smooth. The base is connected to the cyst; The apical horn is slightly smaller than the antapical horn, length 3.5μm, tail length 5 μm. There is no sulcus, cingulum or inner body. Cyst wall thickness about 1 μm, two layers close to each other. The surface has dense particles and short wrinkles, looks quite rough. Archeopyle obvious , the outline nearly square, precingular, P-type, formed by the movement of the third precingular plate. Operculum preserved in-situ. Cyst length 72.5μm, width 65μm.
Comparison: This species differs from Paraireiana sinensis in the absence of bridged ridges on the wall surface.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fm lower member.
