Hystrichodinium ramoides Alberti, 1961, has numerous long, slender processes, which split at their ends into separate branches which more or less ramify. Surface of test usually has small tubercles. Size: length 48-64 µm, width 46-60 µm, processes 25-44 µm.

Original description: Alberti, 1961, p.15
Shell nearlt ovoidal, hypotheca at antapex rounded, slightly smaller than epitheca or of equal size. Transverse furrow strongly indented, longitudinal furrow from middle epitheca to middle hypotheca. With numerous, at the base slightly widened, +/- long, stiff processes. These are furcate at their ends. Surface of the shell with numerous, irregulary spread, small tubercles.
The epitheca is more conical than the nearly hemisphaerical, smaller hypotheca. Sometimes the shell outlinie is elongated oval. The ends of the processes are furcate of finger-like splitted. The shell membrane is yellowish and slightly transparent. Rounded-trapezoidal pyloms are occassionally found.
Dimensions: Holotype: length - 51 Ám, breadth - 46 Ám, length of processes - 25 Ám. Range: shell lengh - 48-64 Ám, breadth - 46-60 Ám, length of processes - 28-44 Ám.

Affinities:
Alberti, 1961, p.15: H. ramoides differs from H. furcatum in having multifurcate processes and the ornamented shell surface.
