Pseudokomewuia retirugosa

Pseudokomewuia retirugosa He Chengquan, 1980

He Chengquan, 1980 included this species in Pseudokomewuia subgen. Condocorpidia.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1980, pl.1, fig.16
Age: Oligocene

Original description (He Chengquan, 1980)
Description: Proximocavate dinoflagellate cysts, rhomboidal to taroform in outline, mostly somewhat broader than long, the lateral sides rounded, epitract and hypotract of approximately equal size, with a strong or broad low apical horn' length 3. 5-7μm,width at base 3 .5-8μm, cylindrical or coniform, surface smooth, or granular or perforate. No cingulum, but sometimes with one or two transverse folds at equatorial region, which may be a reflection of the cingulum. Wall thin and two-layers hard to distinguish., periphragm completely adherent to wall of inner body, markedly deviating only at the base of the apical horn. The surface of shell short rugose to irregularly reticulate, rugae usually developed on apical area, retirugae to reticulum often on centre or apical area, the reticulum low, meshes small (1x1.5μm ± ). Archeopyle apical, formed by the rupture or detachment of a apical area. Operculum attached. A lot of specimens contain yellow-green nucleus-like bodies within shell.
Dimensions: Holotype: 62μm long, 65μm wide; apical horn 6. 5μm long, 4. 5-7.5μm wide, inner body 52μm long, 63μm wide. Range: Shell 53-67.5μm long, 55-69μm wide; inner body 50-65μm long, 53-66μm wide. Measured 25 specimens.
Comparison: The present new species is distinguishable from other ones of the subgenus by the possession of the retirugose to imperfectly reticulate surface.
Occurrence: Abundant in the Second member (Oligocene) and very rare in the First member (? Early Oligocene) of Yongning Group, Shangsi County, Guangxi.
