Systematophora tianshanensis He Chengquan, 1991

Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.25, fig.2
Age: Early Eocene

Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Describption: the body oval. Thin wall, layers not clear, surface granular or short wrinkled, or not complete fine reticular. There are several processes cluster, intratabular, each combination comprises a number of processes, the bases of the processes are connected by an incomplete coronal ridge, the cluster contour is distinct or blurred, generally ring-shaped or horseshoe-shaped. The majority of processes are long strip, 20-32 μm in population, solid, straight or curved, distal ends simple or branched; Branches length varies, have dentate edges; There are 1-2 big processes with different shapes among the clusters that are near the body poles, 4-10 μm, its structure complex, some with a few lateral branches, some wit distal sickle like two branches, the distal edge of the branches is dentate; There are also distally broom-shaped processes. The distal ends are separated, or occasionally, only two adjacent processes fuse with each other at the ends or somewhere along its length by membrane or form a process with sash-like distal edge. The archeopyle apical, the edge angular. Operculum sheded or preserved in situ. The body (lack of tapex) length 52-56 μm, width 40-60 μm, process length 20-32 μm (measured 2); holotype length 60 μm, width 40 μm, process length 25 μm.
Comparison: The new species differs from the present Systematophora complicata and S. conspicua in the type of processes and the distally separated in general.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fm, at the bottom of the upper member.
