Thalassiphora ovata
Thalassiphora ovata He Chengquan, 1991
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.11, fig.11
Age: Paleocene-early Eocene
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Central body outline oval, length larger than width, wall thin, no obvious ornamentation on the surface. The outer wall is membranous, the width around the central body is stable, generally 7-10μm wide, the surface granular or granular-length various wrinkled, or corroded incomplete reticular, usually wrinkle. No tabulation and cingulum displayed. Archeopyle difficult to observe, maybe precingular. Total length 100-105μm, width 84-87μm, the central body length 85-87μm, width 72-75μm (measured 3); Holotype total length 105μm, width 85μm, central body length 87μm, width 72 μm, film width 7-10μm.
Comparison: This new species differs from Thalassiphora flammea, in oval central body, length larger than the width, width of the membrane narrow and stable, no cingulum mark and the unclear archeopyle.
Location and stratigraphy: Wuqia County Basebulak; Qimugen fmp, upper and lower member.
