Protobatioladinium imbatodinense

Protobatioladinium imbatodinense (Vozzhennikova, 1967, p.55, pl.12, figs.4a–c) Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p.91. Emendation: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p.92, as Protobatioladinium imbatodinense.

Originally Imbatodinium, subsequently Necrobroomea?, thirdly Pareodinia, fourthly Pareodinia?, fifthly Batioladinium, sixthly (and now) Protobatioladinium, seventhly Gochteodinia. Below, 1990 transferred this species to Gochteodinia Norris, 1978. Lentin and Williams (1993, p.541) retained this species in Protobatioladinium

Holotype: Vozzhennikova, 1967, pl.12, fig.4a; Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, pl.11, figs.9–11; text-fig.50.
Locus typicus: Western Siberia, USSR
Stratum typicum: Late Jurassic
Translation Vozzhennikova, 1967: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990

Original description: Vozzhennikova, 1967, p. 12
Theca pyriform Epitheca two to two and one half times as big as the hypotheca and terminating in an apical process which gradually tapers towards its distal end hypotheca with two equal, broadly rounded antapical processes Transverse furrow shallow It has not been possible to discern the position of the longitudinal furrow because of the poor preservation of the material, Envelope uniformly covered with small tubercles.

Emended description: Lentin and Vozzhennikova, 1990, p.92
Cyst shape elongate oval with one apical horn and two antapical lobes; autophragm ornamented with coarse granules which may coalesce into flat verrucae ant are evenly distributed over the entire surface of the autophragm except of the apical horn where they become finer; archeopyle formed by the loss of the apical series of paraplates and two dorsal intercalary paraplates, Type A+2I; a distinctive "parasulcal notch" in the archeopyle margin is formed on the ventral surface above the sulcus. Paracingulum indistinct, shallow may divide cyst into two unequal part, the epicyst beinq longer than the hypocyst; parasulcus rarely visible but may be recognized as a shallow depression on the ventral surface between the paracingulum and the "parasulcal notch" in the archeopyle margin.
