Stephodinium coronatum Deflandre, 1936
Taxonomic junior synonyms: Stephodinium australicum and Stephodinium europaicum, both according to Clarke and Verdier (1967, p.67) — however, Singh (1983, p.154–155) retained Stephodinium australicum.

Stephodinium coronatum Deflandre, 1936a is cingulocavate with the endocyst contacting the pericyst in the anterior area of the epicyst and the posterior area of the hypocyst. The pericyst is tabulate with the sutures clearly delineated. The question is whether it shows the S-type ventral organization. . Archeopyle precingular formed from the loss of 3". Size 47 by 60 µm.
