Original diagnosis: Strauss and Lund, 1992, p.165-166
A variation of M. choanophorum with completely reduced distal aculeate process-funnels, or with very narrow buccinate distal processterminations with smooth or short-spined margins. Number and arrangement of processes and archaeopyle formation coincides with the nominal species.
