Deflandrea kashiensis
Deflandrea kashiensis He Chengquan, 1991
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.29, fig.20
Age: Middle-Late Eocene
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: The cyst is small, dorsal ventral flattened, contour peridininoid or pentagonal. Upper cyst is larger than the lower cyst, nearly a right triangle, the side is nearly straight, with a short apical horn, the apex conical or triangular, long 5-12.5μm. The hypocyst is inverted trapezoid, side flat or slightly concave, with two antapical horns far from each other, nearly equal, triangular, basally wide, distally sharp, long 10-12.5, um. Waist clearly convex. The cingulum is located at the widest place of the cyst, shallow, annular, narrow, 5-5. 7μm wide, the edge is marked by the smooth fine ridge. The sulcus is obvious, long trapezoidal, wide, limited to the lower cyst. The outer wall is thin, the surface is finely grained or smooth, and granular at the apical horn and / or antapical horns. The outline of the inner body is the same as that of the outer body, oval circular-circular rhombus, the wall is thin, there is a regular secondary(?) laminated structure at the edge of the outline (sometimes on the edge of cingulum), surface smooth or slightly granular ; Except for the corner, it is almost in contact with the outer wall. Archeopyle intercalary, outline rectangle (10μm long, width 20 μm), as the archeopyle shape of Deflandrea leptodermata. The operculum is off or stuck on the edge of the archeopyle. Cyst length 55-72.5μm, width 45-63μm, the inner body length 40-47.5μm, width 42.5-61, um (measured 3), the holotype length 55μm, width 45μm , Inner body length 40μm, width 42.5μm, apical horn length 7.5μm, antapical horn length 10μm, cingulum width 7 ~ 5μm. Remark: This species is characterized by the samall cyst, thin wall, regular lamellar structure at body edge, the inner and outer walls (except for the horns) almost contact, and the horizontal rectangular archeopyle, etc., diffes from the known species in the genus. It differs from those of Deflandrea bella (sp. Nov.) in circular petagonal cyst and antapical horns distally lacking obvious ornamentation.
Location and stratigraphy: WuCha County Basebulak; Wulagen fm and Basebulak fm member two and three.
