Operculodinium spinulosum
Operculodinim? spinulosum He Chengquan, 1991
He Chengquan, 1991, questionably included this species in Operculodinium.
Holotype: He Chengquan, 1991, pl.21, fig.5
Age: Late Turonian-Early Senonian
Description from He Chengquan, 1991, translated by Suning Hou, 07-01-2019
Description: Body lateral compressed, outline oval - ellipse, length larger than width, no apical antapical horn,, the upper cyst is bread-shaped or low semicircle, the top wide circular; The lower cyst semicircular. Thin wall, monolayer; surface covered with granular- short rod-like processes, the ends slightly enlarged; Processes non-septa. Cingulum close to the equator, narrow and width 4-5μm, slightly-spiral (?), the ends seem staggered from lateral view, cingulum edge are marked by not very continuous fine ridge.Archeopyle precingular, formed by the movement of the third precingular plate. Operculum preserved in situ. Body length of about 57. 5μm width 47.5μm process length 3.5μm
Discussion: Such specimens have obvious Cingulum, they are classified into the genus with questions. Similar specimens of this species found in Gabon's Turonian stage.
