Impletosphaeridium nanus
From Fensome et al., 2019:
Impletosphaeridium nanus (Rozen, 1965, p.311, pl.2, figs.7–8; text-fig.21) Islam, 1993, p.86. Holotype: Rozen, 1965, pl.2, figs.7–8. Originally Cordosphaeridium microtriainum var. nanus, subsequently Cordosphaeridium microtriainum subsp. nanus, thirdly Cleistosphaeridium? nanus, fourthly (and now) Impletosphaeridium nanus. NIA. Age: Late Eocene.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Original description: [Rozen, 1965] (translated from French):
Cordosphaeridium microtriaina (KLUMPP, 1953) nanum n. var.
(Pl. II, fig. 7 and 8; text, fig. 21.)
Origin of the type. - Oedelem Quarry (Bartonian). Preparation No. 1203.
Remarks. - This species differs from the type species by a very significant reduction in size; indeed, the specimen shown indicates a total length approximately half that of Cordosphaeridium microtriaina. Such a significant difference should have been noted.
Dimensions. - Central body diameter: 31-35 μ; process length: 5-8 μ; membrane thickness: 1 μ and less; number of processes: approximately 70.
Observed material. - 1 specimen.
