Impletosphaeridium sphericum (Horowitz, 1975, p.24, pl.1, fig.5) Islam, 1993, p.87.
Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Impletosphaeridium.
Questionable assignment: Islam (1993, p.87).

Age: Late Jurassic.

Holotype: plate P 301, Zohar 8 survey, depth l 003 m, Upper Jurassic, South of Israel.
Description: chorate Dinoflagellate cyst. Spherical body, delicate membrane, less than 1µ thick, very granular. Apparent equatorial cingulum, 2-3 µ wide, encircling the body. Processes 5-8 µ long, few in number, most often arches, bi or trifurcates. Average size: 40 µ 15 specimens.
Discussion: This species differs from other species of Cleistosphaeridium by the smallest number of its processes, usually not exceeding 25-30. It also appears frequently in the Jurassic of southern Israel. Origin of the name: after the spherical shape of the body.
