Sentusidinium perforoconum

Sentusidinium perforoconum (Yun, 1981) Islam, 1993

Holotype: Yun, 1981, pl.15, fig.4.
Originally Cleistosphaeridium, subsequently (and now) Sentusidinium.
Locus typicus: Timmermann brickyard near Esbeck, Germany
Stratum typicum: Santonian
Translation Yun, 1981: Fensome, 1991, p. 707-708

Original diagnosis: Yun, 1981, p. 43: Cleistosphaeridium perforoconum
The proximochorate, spherical cyst consists of a smooth endophragm and a thin, densely perforate periphragm (pore diameter = 0.6 - 0.8 µm), which gives rise to numerous, small, relatively uniformly shaped processes. Their tips are usually rounded, rarely truncate or bulbous. They are closed distally and not forked. Apart from these processes, there are very occasionally processes of quadrangular outline with concave sides. Apparently there is a small relict-like cavity at the base of the spine. An apical archeopyle is commonly present.
