Name illegitimate — senior homonym: Kallosphaeridium inornatum Batten and Lister, 1988. Substitute name: Kallosphaeridium praussii.
Originally Kallosphaeridium inornatum Prauss (name illegitimate), subsequently (and now) Kallosphaeridium praussii.
Holotype: Prauss, 1989, pl.6, fig.18, text-fig.17
Locus typicus: Moorberg Quarry, Sarstedt, Germany
Stratum typicum: Aalenian-Middle Bajocian
Translation Prauss, 1989: LPP
Original description: Prauss, 1989, p.41
Areation and archaeopyle as for the genus. Wall psilate, operculum usually ventral adnate.
Dimensions: (without operculum, range) length 61.3 µm, breadth 68.3 µm.
Affinities:
Prauss, 1989, p.41: The very thin walled species differs from all previous discribed Kallosphaeridium species in the psilate cyst surface. Dissiliodinium psilatum has a straight archaeopyle margin.
