Parvulodinium clavatum
Parvulodinium clavatum Dodekova, 1975
Holotype: Dodekova, 1975, pl.6, figs.6-9
Locus typicus: Gurcovo, NE Bulgaria
Stratum typicum: Late Bathonian
Original description: Dodekova, 1975, p.30
Ovoidal proximate cyst with two-layered w all smooth endophragm and thick periphragm. The epitract occupies less than 1/3 of the overall length of the cyst. The hypotract is large, broadly rounded.
Cingulum: broad, almost circular or slightly helicoidal
Sulcus: broad, extends from the base of the epitract to the antapex. At the point of intersection of the two furrows a flagellar mark occurs.
Wall: The ornamentation is represented by granules and clavate processes. They group in fields which outline the reflected tabulation.
Tabulation: The determination of the precise tabulation is difficult on account of the small dimensions of the cyst, especially on the apex and on the epitract. 6 precingular plates are prooven by the slits around the archaeopyle. Cingular plates are not established. The hypotract has 6 groups of ornamentation elements for the 6 postcingular plates, one group-- for 1p, and one apical group of processes. The structure of the apex is not distinct. Tabulation formula: ?4", 6", 6""", 1p, 1"""" (text-fig. 8). The sutures, as well as the furrows are slightly ornamented. The surface of the periphragm here is fine reticulation.
Archaeopyle: apical.
